Core Beliefs

Core Beliefs

Emmanuel Baptist Church is a body of baptized believers on mission to join God in redeeming a lost world. A church’s primary goal is to glorify God by enjoying Him forever. This is accomplished through spiritual transformation, focused prayer, intentional evangelism, shared and qualified leadership, authentic relationships, and sacrificial service with a heart for multiplication and church planting

First of all, the word church “ecclesia” means the called out ones or the gathering of the saints. The church is made up of regenerate, baptized believers who are interconnected in dynamic fellowship, accountability, and mutual edification. The church was created by God to bring glory to Himself. The church is not the building, but a body of people who have trusted Christ alone as Savior and Lord and have been baptized by immersion.

A true church is marked by three distinct practices and five key beliefs.

Three Distinct Practices

1. The consistent preaching of God’s inerrant, inspired, and authoritative Word.

2. The administration of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

3. The practice of church discipline.

Five Crucial Beliefs

1. We believe in Scripture Alone in that the Bible teaches all that is necessary for our salvation from sin and is the standard by which all Christian behavior must be measured.

2. We believe in Grace Alone which states that God’s unmerited favor is granted through the calling and regenerating work of the Holy Spirit who releases us from our willful bondage to sin and enables us to repent and believe in Christ.

3. We also adhere to Faith Alone which is the doctrine that justification is by grace alone through faith alone. We are saved by the righteousness of Christ on our behalf and not on our own works or merit.

4. This is accomplished because of Christ Alone. Our eternal redemption was obtained by Christ alone through His sinless life and substitutionary death which are alone sufficient for our salvation. Jesus is THE way, THE truth, and THE life.

5. All of this is for the Glory of God Alone who glorifies Himself in all that He does and deserves the highest praise.
